But music is one of my preoccupations.
Technically, I have no actual musical expertise but I have listened to music obsessively—at least that's what I'm told—ever since my parents started allowing me to listen to the radio. My dad listened to classic rock so I was exposed to that, although Led Zeppelin was too Satanic. And my parents burned all their Beatles LPs at a Christian music bonfire.
Authenticity is the most important criteria for judging a band or individual artist. It can be found in all genres but it is a singular attribute particular to each band. Its evolution and the self-expression of its members should not be forced and honestly convey their life experience or some artistic way of representing it.
Sure, those are my criteria.
